StoriesIG is the most used Instagram viewer and downloader in the world: Stories, Highlights, Reels, photos, carousels, videos, IGTV, profile pictures and audio, saved as the file that was uploaded. Here is who runs it, and how to tell the real StoriesIG from the copies.
No growth team and no open-plan floor of a hundred people. A handful of engineers, a shared backlog, and a service that has to stay up in eight regions at once.
Instagram gives you no way to keep anything. You can watch a story, look at a photo, replay a reel, and then it is gone: the story after a day, the rest whenever the account changes its mind. StoriesIG gives you the file instead. Paste a link or type a username, and you get what was uploaded, at the size it was uploaded.
Nothing is asked of you in return. There is no login screen, so there is no password to give up and no history to build. The account you are looking at sees no visit either, since as far as Instagram is concerned nobody signed in.
Speed comes from being close. The same service runs out of eight regions and answers you from the nearest one, which is what lets a download survive a weak mobile connection instead of stalling halfway.
A small team builds the site on Laravel Octane. There is no dashboard and no feed, and the interface has barely moved in seven years, which is why it still opens on an old phone. Advertising covers the servers; StoriesIG has never charged anyone.
Viewing through StoriesIG keeps you out of the viewer list. It works that way for everyone, with nothing to switch on.
We pass on the file that was uploaded. No compression, no resizing, no logo in the corner.
With no login screen there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to pin a download history to. We do not profile visitors.
StoriesIG reaches what Instagram already shows the public. Private accounts stay shut, and we will never ask for a password to get past one.
Advertising pays for the servers. No paywall, no trial that expires, no card details.
StoriesIG goes live. One input box, stories only, no account, built for a connection that keeps dropping.
Anonymous viewing and Highlights. Watching a story stops leaving a trace, and Highlights open long after the stories in them expired.
Reels in HD. One MP4 with the original sound, and nothing stamped across the corner.
Photos, carousels, videos, IGTV, profile pictures. Avatars start coming back at 1080 × 1080 instead of the 150 pixels Instagram displays.
Rebuilt on Laravel Octane. The wait between a link and a file drops under two seconds, and stays there as traffic grows.
Twenty-one languages. Arabic ships right-to-left rather than mirrored, and every locale gets its own copy.
Eight server regions. Europe, India, Singapore, Japan, Türkiye, the United States, Brazil and South Africa.
Threads video and a dark theme. Threads gets a downloader of its own, and the site follows whatever theme your system is set to.
StoriesIG is a product we build and pay for ourselves, and it lives at one address. Every page on storiesig.info is ours. Nothing on any other domain is: we run no mirrors, we have licensed the name to nobody, and we have never published a StoriesIG app.
That makes a fake easy to spot. We will never ask for your Instagram password. We will never ask you to log in or connect an account. We will never ask for card details. Anything carrying our name that does one of those three is not ours.
If you find a site, app, extension or bot trading on the StoriesIG name, tell us through Contact and we will act on it.
Threads is a separate app rather than a part of Instagram, so it gets a separate tool: the Threads Video Downloader saves Threads video as a plain MP4.
